An address book is mostly personal data about other people. Here is exactly how we treat it.
An address book is an unusual thing to hand to a company. Almost everything in it is personal data about other people — people who never agreed to anything, and who trusted your contact with their number. We built GullyContacts around that fact.
Your contacts stay on your device
This is the part that matters, so here it is plainly: the contact records you create or import are stored locally on the device you are using. On the web that is your browser's own storage; in the apps it is a file in the application's storage. They are not uploaded to us, and we cannot read them.
Not encrypted-on-our-servers. Not "we promise not to look". Simply not sent.
The honest consequence: because we hold no copy, we cannot restore your contacts if you clear your browser data or lose the device. Export regularly — that is your backup, and it takes one click.
What we do hold
An account needs something. We keep your email address, so you can sign in and we can send verification and password reset codes, and a salted hash of your password — never the password itself. Our servers keep ordinary request logs for diagnosing faults and abuse.
That is the complete list. The Privacy Policy sets it out in detail, including the two processors we use: DigitalOcean for hosting and Brevo for sending those emails.
No advertising, no tracking, no resale
There is no advertising business here to feed. We charge ₹999 a year, and that is the whole model — which is why we can say your address book is not a data source and mean it.
This website loads no third-party scripts, no analytics and no external fonts. The typefaces are served from our own domain specifically so that reading this page tells nobody else that you did.
Leaving is a button, not a negotiation
Export everything to vCard or CSV whenever you like — both open in Apple Contacts, Google Contacts, Outlook, Excel and Numbers. Stopping your subscription does not lock your contacts away, because they were never ours to lock.
When this changes, we will say so
Syncing contacts between your devices is the most requested thing we could build, and it would necessarily mean storing contacts on our servers. If we build it, we will tell you clearly and update the policy — not quietly change a date and hope nobody reads it.
